They say the beauty of a woman is in her hair. Well, what about those of us low maintenance hair types that are just not up to spending hours styling hair  as a daily beauty routine? Also it is a girl’s perogative to take her time getting ready but what about those days when you just can’t be bothered?
Laziness aside, it has been often said that use of excessive styling products can reak havoc on the hair in the long run, so every once in a while, it might make sense to opt for low maintenance hair to simply give our hair a break.
However, going for low maintenance hair does not have to mean looking like a plain jane or something out of a horror flick. Here are 7 low maintenance hair short cuts which will save on time and effort but still leave you looking stylish.
1. Go for a low maintenance hair cut
Choose a cut that won’t require hours in front of the mirror every morning to maintain. A simple layerd bob is a stylish, classic look, which should fall into the place in the morning with minimal brushing and blow drying. Or a short pixie cut that can be quickly styled by running fingers through your hair.
2. Go for a low maintenance hair style that looks good wet
Blow drying long hair straight is a pain and mega time consuming, so on those days when you just can’t be bothered, just skip it altogether and go for the wet look.
The wet look can look especially great on ladies with curly mane by giving the curls a slick more defined look. For the straight hair ladies, simple ways to rock the wet look are to either brush hair back or sleek into a high pony tail and you’re good to go.
Allowing your hair to dry naturally will also help to reduce frizz and that goes for all hair types!
3. Go for some clip-on hair extensions
Clip in hair extensions are a quick and easy way to boost volume and glam up any style. They come in a variety of length and styles so you can easily achieve a chic style without much effort, plus they can last for days or weeks even if applied correctly. Just clip the hair extensions in place, give them a quick sprucing with a brush or comb, a sheen spray and you’ll be good to go.
4. Think big and use a volume hair spray
Volume is the lazy girls best friend, so blast your hair with a volume spray before blow drying and go for a big, messy look that you can pretend you spent hours perfecting. But be careful not to overdo it or risk looking like an 80’s time warf experiment.
5. Dry shampoo
Giving your hair a blast of dry shampoo is a neat way to save on blow drying in the morning. You can either skip the shower completely, or stick on a shower cap to keep your hair dry.
Spray on the dry shampoo and it will remove excess oil from your hair give you at least one extra day between shampoos.
6. Slick it all back
Whether it be in an elegant bun or in a messy ponytail, slicking your hair back is an easy yet stylish option for low maintenance hair. The ponytail has seen a revival in recent years and is the ultimate cheat for those days when you just can’t be bothered.
Scoop up your hair, give it a tease at the roots for some volume, stick it through a bobble and you’re ready to face the day!
7. Go For Braids
Spend a few minutes putting your hair into braids and then the great thing is you can leave them in for a couple of days and they will still look great. In fact, if anything braids look better after a day or so when they have a bit of texture for that beachy, californian look.
For those not so excellent with braiding handiwork, a simple fish tail braid is a great option and with some simple practice, this look can be easily achieved. Here’s a quick and easy fish tail braid tutorial
