For many women who experience hormonal imbalance, excess androgen production can be a major concern as it can lead to all kinds of havoc in the female body. Acne, excess body hair and mood disorders are just some of the problems associated with too much of these male hormones. That’s why we’ve created Spearmint BB Tea to naturally target these conditions. So what are androgens and why do our bodies make them?
Androgens are hormones produced by reproductive organs and adrenal glands and works to regulate the development of male secondary characteristics. Both women and men produce varying degree and variety of androgen, which include testosterone and it has useful functions in the reproductive system as well as our overall health including enhanced libido, increased energy and production of healthy muscle mass.
While a little male hormone can be good, the problem arises when our system produce too much of these androgens leading to all kinds of unpleasant side effects. By nature women possess roughly one-tenth the amount of androgen and testosterone in men, but the levels of these male hormones may heighten if there is an imbalance in the system as a result of lifestyle choices, medical conditions and age.
Women with overly high androgen levels typically experience symptoms such excessive body hair, acne, menstrual irregularities, polycystic ovary syndrome, fertility issues and even sexual dysfunction.
When addressing the issue of excess androgen, the goal is to reduce ovarian or adrenal androgen production which reduces the level of free androgen and blocking the secondary androgen action.
Oftentimes, we focus on treating the symptoms whereas the goal should be to address the underlying cause of the issue and promote balance within our reproductive system.
Typically changing to a healthy diet, moderate exercise, reduction of stress levels as well as dietary supplements can provide relief to symptoms as well as promote balance.
A few ways to reduce androgens in females naturally:
Exercise, it’s a must
The impact of a regular exercise on our overall hormone and whole body health is powerful.
According to a 12-month study conducted by Anne McTiernan at the Cancer Prevention Research Program of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, data shows that loss of body fat in conjunction with moderate intensity exercise causes greater decline in androgen, testosterone and free testosterone.
Combining a healthy diet high in protein and free of processed foods, unhealthy carbohydrates, sugars and fats in addition to moderate exercise, 45 minutes a day, 5 days a week should be the starting point towards getting the body back on the right track.
Eat the right foods
To reduce androgen levels in females naturally, there has to be a reduction of sugars and unhealthy carbohydrates. The reason, one word, insulin. Consuming high levels of sugars and refined carbs leads to high insulin levels which causes the ovaries to produce these male hormones.
Too much of refined carbs and sugars can also lead to other major health issues such as diabetes and heart disease. Women with PCOS are especially susceptible to these type of diseases given the tendency for their system to produce high insulin. Therefore best practice is to refrain from these diet culprits and adopt a diet rich in protein, fiber, healthy fats, whole grains, fruits and leafy greens.
Look for high fiber and phytoestrogenic foods: Research was carried out in Italy on the effect of reducing sex hormones through dietary change where 104 women were involved.
Dietary changes that were incorporated include reduction of total intake of fat particularly saturated fatty acids, and a reduction of the consumption of high-glycemic index foods. Dietary fibers from green foods were recommended, and foods containing phytoestrogens, like tofu, non GMO soy, and flaxseed were enhanced in the diet. These dietary changes gave rise to lower levels of testosterone.
Foods rich In Omega 3’s like flaxseed: Omega 3’s can minimize the levels of testosterone in women. Flaxseed is a great source of these omega 3 fatty acids, manganese, vitamin B1 and fiber. It comes in two different types: brown and golden which as well known as linseed and can be used in a variety of ways. Linseeds and ground flaxseed can be incorporated into smoothies, gluten free muffins, sprinkled above porridge or salads.
Some other foods that can help to naturally lower androgen and testosterone levels include:
Reishi Mushroom: Foods like Reishi mushrooms have been shown to significantly lower testosterone levels. Japanese experiments of 19 edible and medicinal mushrooms showed that alcohol extracts of Ganoderma lucidum prevented the effects of testosterone.
The research showed that one of the biological functions of Reishi mushroom is to repress androgen and its effect. In vitro and in vivo researches conducted with rats, it was discovered that the resultant effect is the suppression and reduction of the growth of cells in their androgen-dependent prostates. Reishi mushroom has been used for thousands of years in Asian cultures to treat various disease conditions.
Red clover: The Monash Institute of Reproduction & Development Centre for Urological Research in Australia conducted a research on the effects of red clover given as food to male mice.
The results of the study came to a conclusion that diets rich in red clover reduced the level of testosterone and dihydrotestosterone. The phytochemicals in red clover were anti-androgenic when compared to the control group, which exhibited elevated androgen levels.
Add a few supplements and herbal remedies to your diet
Vitex agnus/Chasteberry or Shatavari extracts: Natural herbal supplements such as vitex and shatavari are well known as women’s herbs and used frequently in female fertility and hormonal therapy treatments due to their ability to promote balance of hormonal levels in the female reproductive system.
The CHIOMA Asana Ladies Balance supplement mix and capsules were formulated with certified organic vitex, shatavari, maca and green tea. Its’ proprietary formula combines the most well known and potent herbs used in the natural management of women’s hormonal balance.
Spearmint Tea: Spearmint tea is among one of the most prominent herbal tea for correction of excess testosterone. A study carried out in Turkey showed that PCOS women who drank 2 cups of spearmint tea every day for a month showed a significant reduction in the level of excess androgen.
Inositol: Supplements like inositol not only lowers the level of testosterone but also enhances the quality of egg and spontaneous ovulation in women with PCOS.
Supplements to regulate blood sugar and insulin levels: Supplements like Vitamin D, chromium, cinnamon and alpha lipoic acid and green tea influences insulin sensitivity which in turn can positively impact androgen levels.
In summary, diet, exercise and supplementation can help to regulate androgen hormones in women. As always before starting any natural hormone therapy, it is a good idea to consult with a physician and conduct the proper tests to discover current hormonal levels, identify the imbalance and rule out any major diseases or illnesses.
by far the most helpful
Thank you fatema, have a great day 🙂
where do i get spearmint tea leaves? and whats the price? can we rely on external application of products like ant egg oil/ thanaka powder and kusuma oil?
You can get it anywhere in the shop, just make sure it’s 100%. Try ebay (but it’ll be a bit expensive). If using tea bags put two tea bags in cup to make it stronger, don’t use any sugar or sweeteners or honey.
I have PCOS but I’m thinking if it decreases testosterone levels I will not be able to build muscles like before? Or how does that work ?
Hi Isabell, PCOS often leads to higher levels of androgen and testosterone in women due to the disruption that arises in hormone levels. The goal should be to achieve balance so that your body is not making too much or too little of any one particular hormone.
So will your product level out all the hormones or will I need to include some of the other supplements.
Hi Debra, ASANA is not intended to cure or treat any disease. The goal is to work with your body to promote balance when combined with a healthy diet and appropriate exercise. When taken consistently and correctly, usually users notice a difference within 6 months of supplements. It can be combined with a multivitamin. Hope that helps
i read that soy base products reduce ability to ovulate. i would skip on that. but the rest is on point.
Glad you enjoyed the article. The soy debate is very controversial and I believe the issue has more to do with the type of soy than soy itself. Non-GMO soy has numerous health benefits to women especially when it comes to the issue of hormonal imbalance. It is a great source of phytoestrogen which are chemicals that can mimic estrogen in the body. This is can be beneficial to women who do not produce enough estrogen on their own. It is often prescribed in the natural management of menopause as estrogen levels tend to decline as we age. GMO, processed soy on the hand is what gives soy a bad rap and has been linked to many health problems. Sadly it is this type of soy that is found in many foods we eat and supplements we take.
I have been taking Spring Valley Soy Isoflavones which alleviate the dizzy unbalanced feeling I have so should I stop using these in get the Non GMO and if so could you recommend something.
Hi Debra, genetically modified soy and foods are generally bad for you especially for us women. It’s best to look for a Non-GMO, organic option. I suggest meeting with a clinical herbalist or naturopathic doctor who can do a proper analysis of your overall health condition before making a recommendation.
hi i was wondering if you ship to canada i really need this
Hi! Thank you for your interest in our product. We can arrange for international shipping. Can you email me at info@ladiesbalance.com with address and more information. Thank you 🙂
I read about flaxseed oil, women with endometriosis and fibroids should not take it that it will worsen the condition?
Endometriosis has been linked to high levels of estrogen in the body and flaxseed contain phytoestrogens which can be problematic for women with this condition.
can i use spearmint leaves to make a tea
Absolutely! That is the more common preparation for spearmint. Let me know if you have additional questions 🙂
Can you use spearamint oil in tea or is it best to use the spearamint leaves?
Would the symptoms such as excessive body hair go away once the androgen levels are re-balanced?
Hi Allison, great question! Personally I don’t believe the symptoms of excessive hair growth ever fully go away, but there will be visible reduction to rate and density of the growth. Every woman is different and for some balancing androgen levels and achieving hormonal balance could very well treat the problem. I highly recommend hair removal techniques like laser hair removal to complement your regimen.
Hello, I am a boy (19 years old)and I have so much body hair. If I reduce my testosterone hormone level, does it hurt my sexual ability?
Hi Alex reducing your testosterone levels could greatly impact your drive. Testosterone is the driving force behind libido especially in men.
“…foods containing phytoestrogens, like tofu, soy milk, and flaxseed were enhanced in the diet.”
Was that statement correctly written? Soy and flaxseed are the leading cause of increases in androgens so how can eating more of it be good?
Hi Sai, on the contrary, soy and flaxseed are very well known for their phyto-estrogenic properties, with soy being the richest source of the two. Phtyo estrogens mimic the female estrogen hormone and have been shown to counter androgenic effects on the body. There has been numerous studies conducted that show that regular intake of dietary soy can decrease male hormone levels in both women and men. You can read some of that research HERE.
Well, not in my case, unfortunatelly. I got realy oily skin, PMS, acne and exessive hair growth on my legs after I changed my dairy products to soy. It took me quite a while to understand this connection (this was 20 years ago when soy products where new on the market, at least in my country, and little or no information was to be found about possible side effevts of them). When I finally grasped the situation and quit the products I slowly got better over a period of one year, but the extra hair is still present. I have during the years met other women with similar experiences, so be aware, it is a potent bean, we all can react different, but for me it did only cause troubles.
Hi Frida, sorry to hear about what you went through. I do agree with you to an extent on the dangers of soy but not all soy products are created equal. Bad soy (exposed to genetically modified materials) tends to get lumped in with good soy (fermented soy), and this is what gives it a bad rap. Fermented, Non-GMO soy is a nutrient dense superfood and a great source of many vitamins. You have to remember that many Asian cultures consume heavy amounts of soy on a regular basis and they’ve been doing so for thousands of years. The difference is the type of soy that they consume. The soy that is commonly available here in the States and in many other parts of world are contaminated with pesticides that make it very bad for you. And the sad part is that a vast majority of processed and shelved foods contain this type of GMO soy. So we end up getting an excessively large amounts of this food in our system. As far as reducing androgen levels, the phyto-estrogens in soy have been shown to counteract it hence why it’s listed in this article.
I love you Belle ! we need to clone you for the net!!!!!!
Awww Joelee thank you, you’re far too kind.
I have had blood tests showing I have Low T levels 0.3, This is presenting with many symptoms There is no treatment here in the U K, except insanely expensive private clinics. What sort of herbs can boost testoserone for woman, I already eat a healthy diet maintain fitness.
Hi Elaine, if you’re looking to boost testosterone levels one popular herb that comes to mind is tribulus. The beauty of this herb is that it is does not contain any hormones and has been shown to stimulate the production of testosterone to normal levels in healthy women. Eating a lot of broccoli has been rumored to help increase testosterone levels. I will be doing an article with a more thorough list of herbs, vitamins and regimen so stay tuned 🙂
Hi belle! You made mention of adding tofu, flax seed, spearmint tea or soy milk to one’s diet helps reduce testosterone level, well as it is right now I can’t find spearmint tea on any of the stores here in Nigeria,I hate soy and I have never heard of tofu and I doubt I will find that here. But I did find a swanson’s flax seed oil(omegaTru) soft gel from a store , what I do not know is if that would do the job?? And if yes,can I take it together with a bovine ovary pill simultaneously? Or what do suggest I do please ?
Flaxseed like bovine ovary is rich in phytoestrogens. While I can’t really advise on whether to take both at the same time, what I will say is if you decide to do both start with low doses and work your way up.
A God -Sosend I came across this post!!!!!! So refreshing to hear an honest, real post. I was on spironolactone for 7months for higher end of normal testosterone(40 while normal lab high # is 45) I have very regular periods but very oily acne prone skin at 40years old:( I decided to get off spironolactone because I am a runner, well, jogger and even eating clean and exercising I started gaining weight in my hips and tummy and felt like my skin was toooo dry. I started taking spearmint capsules 2 weeks ago 400mg. I sometimes take 5 a day but my skin is still super oily. Will capsules work as good as tea, and I want to add another supplement- to balance hormones, what could u recommend? Praying you respond-
Hi Melissa thank you for stopping by, glad you enjoyed the post 🙂 Please remember that supplements are not drugs. I want to drive this message home because it’s important we realize that supplements do not work overnight. The goal is to provide nutrients in the body where there are deficiencies. Essentially helping the body to correct itself using natural food products and herbal extracts, and with consistent, proper and dedicated use along with healthy lifestyle habits can produce great results. The point is, it can take time to notice effects from the herb. Dosage really depends on your body chemistry and how much of a deficiency there is. This is where a little trial and error will be required to get the right dose that works for you. I usually recommend to start with a lower dose and build up. Capsules are generally more concentrated than tea which means a stronger product. I personally prefer spearmint tea but recognize that it might take many cups of tea and time to get the desired effects. There are many great supplements available that can help you balance hormones including ASANA by Ladies Balance. Regular intake of spearmint can help.
Please I need information to face skin care .but my problem is my nose is growth hair like dot please tell me solution
I was thinking if you shio to abu dhabi? Thanks
Hi Cristine, we can arrange for international shipping. Please send an email to info@ladiesbalance.com. Thank you 🙂
Hi, The way I found you because I was searching for help with my high testosterone level. I am 53 yrs. old, overweight and have had hormone issues with low progesterone since my 30’s. I have been taking bio identical hormones about 14 years and it has been a life saver. However, for a long time at least the past 4 or so years I get course hair in different places on my face. I have noticed my scalp showing, thinning hair for many, many years. I also have no sex drive which really upsets me and I feel bad for my husband.
After reading about flaxseed, reishi mushrooms, red clover and spearmint tea I started questioning what the heck do I do with all theses products? How much do I consume at a time or day ect.?
Does your Asana product have everything I need to help me out along with eating correctly and exercise? I take 2 multi-vitamin packs a day an AM and PM. I appreciated your thoughts. Thank you.
Hi Kathi, I can relate. There’s so much information out there, it’s a challenge to know what to follow and where to begin. There could be a variety of causes of high testosterone, carrying too much weight is often what creates or exacerbates the problem. Here’s a scenario, when we carry excess weight, what can sometimes happen is that the adipose tissue produces excess estrogen, because estrogen is stored in fat cells. When this occurs, it negatively affects the FSH hormones. FSH hormones is what helps our bodies convert testosterone to estrogen, so when things stop working properly, it could mean excess testosterone. And that translates to all types of problems including thinning hair on the head, hirsutism and the list goes on. I know it is not easy, but losing the excess weight will be a great starting point. When we carry too much weight than our body can handle, it can lead to all types of problems. ASANA is not a drug and not intended to cure or treat any disease. It can help with where there are deficiencies and work with your system to promote balance. You mentioned you are also on bio identical hormones, it’s probably not a good idea to mix different remedies, can be too overwhelming and worsen the situation.
I’m 66 years old and have struggle with acne all my life. I still take antibiotics to keep it under control. My recent blood tests showed I am low in testosterone and my blood sugar is at a the high end of normal. What I need to know is what to eat and what to take to increase testosterone and lower blood sugar. Will Asana help?
I work out 4-5 times per week. I do cardio and lift weights (but not too heavy). I’m done this all my life and now when I should be healthy, I am not.
Thank you for the information lovely Belle, it has really helped. XO Vianey
Thank you for your comment Vianey 🙂
Actually, I’ve hear the DIM supplements are contraindicated for women with testosterone dominence because the DIM just metabolizes the xenoestrogens in the body and does not actually reduce androgen presence. Maybe check your research? be curious to see what you find.
this is by far the most informed, intelligent information on this topic, with the most relevant advice. thanks Belle finally someone who knows what they are talking about.
Thank you Joelee! 🙂
great help
I have some facial hair growth on my face and it may be due to a hormonal disorder . Can this product asana be helpul to me also , will it reduce my hair growth ?
This article was really informative and had so many great suggestions! Thank you!
Hi Amy, glad you enjoyed the article. Thank you for stopping by.
Thank you Amy 🙂
I’m 42 mom and have a lot of atypical moles. My daughter was born with a small congenital nevus on her tibia and began getting/growing a birthmark on her temple and also has one growing down her chest. She is almost 12 years old. She began having these symptoms at the age of 5, after a sunburn. I’ve been told it’s a Becker’s Nevus. I have a faint one on my arm. Now that she is prepubertal, I noticed that hormones are kicking in, but so are the atypical moles. She and I both had 4 atypical dysplastic moles removed two weeks ago. The dermatologist came back with the pathology report that said both of hers (one flesh colored one on her scalp and one on her mid back about the size of an eraser tip) and two of mine on my lower back next to my spine came back with mild to moderate abnormality. We will both have excisions in 3 weeks. I was worried about the potential increased risk for melanoma and in doing research, I found that the Becker’s Nevus is linked to an increase of Androgen Receptors. I also found that Androgen may be linked to atypical moles. I’m now looking for ways to decrease the amount of androgen in both of our bodies. Even though the Becker’s Nevus wasn’t on my torso, I developed bilateral breast hypoplasia (I never fully developed), and I noticed that my daughter appears to be on the same track as in lacking development in the breasts but not lacking development in any other private area. She has not started menstruation. I’m unclear about androgen versus androgen receptors which is causing me confusion about which natural anti-androgen supplements to buy. Can you help provide some clarity with this topic? Given your background and understanding you are not a licensed endocrinologist, what’s your opinion?
hi!thanks for your great article. my testosterone level and prolactin level are high and i dont have PCOS. my doctor said that i should lower them just by medication but because of its side effects i dont want to use medicine.i am study nutrition sciences and i think i can reduce it by diet. what is your idea?
Hi , MY PERIODS ARE IRREGULAR SINCE 2009 , SOMETIMES IT TAKES 8 MONTHS.. CAN THI REALLY HELP
With DIM the story is a bit more complicated. I have found that it actually increases testosterone.
Really good article anyway!
DIM is actually better known for lowering estrogen levels. body builders usually take it for this particular purpose.
I have got hair on my chin mainly on the right side. Got worse after I had my daughter 4 years ago. I am 46. Had blood tests. All came back OK. I have mirena coil because my periods were heavy and painful. Can you suggest a supplement to balance my hormones Also I am on Gaps diet. Thanks
Dose Omega 3 fish oil help with androgen over production as well?
Hi there!
Great article – but one comment.
I recently tried Vitex, and it was AWFUL. One capsule knocked me out for a day, and turned me into a zombie for three days. I was tired and insatiably hungry as a result. By tired I mean ZERO energy, and I’m known for being an energetic person. The next day I had a migraine, and broke out in a few cysts on my forehead (I don’t normally get cysts). I couldn’t stop eating!
Thing is, Vitex raises progesterone levels – which leads to PMS symptoms (all of which I got after taking ONE capsule) and a week before my actual PMS. Vitex isn’t just a simple, innocent herb, and if anyone is planning to take it make sure to consult with a doctor and perhaps get your hormones tested beforehand.
Needless to say, I’m returning the Vitex – it’s not for me!
Thanks again!
Love,
Olena
Hi Belle, great article!
I am studying nutritional and just beginning to understand a bit of what is going on in my body. I seem to have an excess of both androgens and estrogens – my symptoms excess facial and body hair, painful periods and heave bleeding. Is it possible to have an excess of both androgens and estrogens? I suppose the best place to start is by testing? Which tests would you recommend? Thanks in advance!
I av hairtism due to my high insulin level n PCO . I av currently started using spearmint tea . And cinnamon for balancing my harmones n to treat hairtism . How much time will it take to see the results ? N anymore advice u can give . M really worried .
I i take this supplement because im trying to reduce testestorone i shouldn’t take flaxseeds in my foods?
I have PCOS, do you think that if I reduce my androgen it would be possible for me to get pregnant?? Thanks
Hi Justine, fertility is such a complex case and often cannot be answered with a yes or no. Reducing androgen levels may help but it is not guarantee. There are so many other factors to consider.
Birth control pills have been proven to cause hair loss in women due to the increase of androgens, many people do not know this. Do you have any recommendations on how to counter act that?
Hi Tracy thank you for sharing the insight. Our FEMININITEA Spearmint BB Tea is a great option and may help. There are a list of other plant foods that I’ve outlined in the article which may be effective. Regular exercise, getting to a healthy body weight and cutting out processed foods and excess carbs have also been shown to help reduce excess androgen production in women especially if there’s presence of insulin resistance.
Hi belle do you have like a regimen for women like a plan I’ve been dealing with growing excessive body for about 10years and it’s really annoying and embarrassing especially on my face…HELP!!!!!!
Hi Kaylee, your question came just in time. We’re planning to start offering plans like the one you mentioned. It will be available very soon, so stick around 🙂
Thank you for the most helpful information! It helped me a lot. Acne is almost gone. Now pimples show only sometimes. And they comes when I overdose some sweets. 😀
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Hi Kristina, you’re very welcome :). Thank you for sharing your feedback. Do you mind sharing with the other readers what you did?

I am 50 years old and have Alopecia. At least 10 years ago my doctor told me my testosterone levels were high. I don’t know my current levels. I currently have high stress due to my job. All of these items can lead to hair fall as I understand it. Would your product assist with hair re-growth?
Hi Belle, it’s so nice to find your post. I’ve had to take plan b pill (contains levonorgestrel) recently and ever since then my hormones have been acting up. Do you have any suggestions that can help counteract the effects of plan b on the body? I’ve never taken any other birth control before and was very healthy prior to taking the pill. Any input would be so appreciated!
Thank you
Is Stop drinking spearmint tea the hair will grow back?
Hi I’m suffer from major hair loss since having my 2 year old. I was on dianette contraception which is an androgen blocker and helped with my acne for 15 years. The only time I came off it was to have my children but I alway went back on it after. Third child round I decided I didn’t want to go back on the pill and my hair and skin have suffered drastically, not to mention my mood. I didn’t think it was testosterone or pcos as I have very little body hair too. I heard shatavari was good as well as mint tea and evening primrose oil and cod liver oil. As well as I high quality supplement. Is there anything else you can advise? I can’t afford any of my local natropaths and I’m very close to just going back on the pill as the hair loss is very depressing. Any advice greatly received please
Hi there! Would you recommend the Asana ladies product for people with endometriosis? I have all the symptoms of excess androgens in my body but don’t want to aggravate the endo for obvious reasons.
Hi Lois, nice to hear from you! Thank you for your interest in our product. I can certainly understand your concerns. Asana may be beneficial to you and here’s why. The primary ingredient is vitex, an ingredient that works to correct hormonal imbalances by regulating levels of the progesterone hormone. Progesterone and estrogen are the two most common hormones in a woman’s body and they both have opposing effects. In other words progesterone keeps estrogen levels in check. When estrogen levels are high, the increase in progesterone helps to balance it out. In many endometriosis cases, there is presence of estrogen dominance which may be the root cause of the endometriosis. High estrogen levels can stimulate endometriosis while progesterone counters it. The vitex herb typically helps to stimulate the production of progesterone in the body and herein lies its effectiveness. In Asana, we’ve combined with maca, shatavari, green tea and ginger to enhance its benefits. Shatavari is a great tonic for women’s uterus and may help to strengthen those areas in addition to reducing adhesions that may lead to blockages. People often fear the phytoestrogenic properties of herbs like shatavari. In cases of endometriosis where estrogen may be a factor, certain phytoestrogens may be beneficial in reducing the harmful effects of high estrogen levels because they can bind with estrogen receptors in the body weakening their effects since phytoestrogens are a weaker form of estrogen. So in addition to helping support a balanced system to reduce excess androgens, Asana may also be beneficial in providing relief in cases of estrogen dominance which is present in many endo cases.

Hi Jan we are looking into this for you, sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience 🙂
Hello, I suffer from hirsutism (mostly facial 🙁 ) and acne(without PCOS). I have elevated androstenedione and the other hormones are ok, so I was wondering what is the best thing for me to take… I don’t want to mess with estrogen and progesterone since they are ok and I ovulate regularly, but I have to block the androgens. Can’t really choose between Reishi, Spearmint tea, Licorice, NAC, DIM… And not sure about the dosage. So I would appreciate your advice. Thank you!!
Hi, please help! Do you ship to South Africa? I’ve tried everything to get rid of my acne since a horrible experience using the Mirena birth control.
I have a Prolactinoma causing My PCOS,I recently stopped My Birth Control, when I was diagnosed I was basically told that (plus losing weight,Ive lost 20lbs) was the ONLY thing I could take for it.Its ‘stable’ so never given the option for removal. Is that true, can I do/take anything to shrink it?
Every article I read is “shave this, wax that, laser and maintain for the rest of your life.” This is the first article I found that actually tells me what to change internally to *fingers crossed* beat hirsutism. Thank you for publishing this!
Does green tea increase the androgen hormones in woman ?
Cause I was already facing issue with facial hair growth and green tea is included in my regular diet at least per day (1 cup)
Through these reason I was stuck with my doudt
Hello am Dorin and I have a problem of growing excess hair on my body and I feel uncomfortable with it because too much for me. Can I be helped please please thank you
Hello- my granddaughter was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 14. No periods, lots of facial hair growth like a beard, including hair on her chest and down her back. It is very coarse and black. Took her to cooks children hspitsl in Dallas. Her doctor perscribed metformin and birth control pills. Metformin helped a bit with the hair but messed up her stomach greatly with vomiting, constantly, sick feeling and not wanting to participate as she felt so sick. Also her mood changed from a very sweet girl to very agitated and feeling of doom. (Nothing will ever help me, I’m just too sick all the time and hate my life. )Although she stated- I’m not selfish enough to do anything stupid cause I love my family. (” But grandma, it’s just so hard”)Going against her doctor we took her off the metformin and she is a happy person without severe stomach pains. Although her hair growth has increased again. The poor child has a beard that has to be shaved daily and gets five o’clock shadow in the evenings, its vey noticeable. Her periods are rare. Her upper development in breasts is spectacular. She is about 75lbs overweight. She wants to quit school for teasing and so ashamed. She’s a junior in high school.
What are we to do? Spearmint teas and cinnamon sticks. I also thought joing a gym for an hour workout each day would help. I’d pay for a friend to go buddy with her. Stop all sugars and go for salads and low carbs. Would simple carbs include dairy and meats? Is there a difference? Please help this dire situation if you can. give a Guidence for a young adult (age 14-19) that is on the verge. She is 17 now. I’m sure there are many her age and we just had to get away from that awful metformin medicine. Thank you in advance.
Praying for all those that suffer ….
