For the past several years, I have made a green detox smoothie a part of my daily breakfast regimen and it has worked wonders for my energy levels, my digestion, my skin and my health.
I am a firm believer in the smoothie revolution and a fierce advocate. I find it a fairly convenient way to add healthy greens and other foods that although are healthy don’t really fly too well with my taste buds.
Making a green smoothie does not have to be complex or cumbersome task. In fact, the simpler the recipe the better, to avoid unnecessary calories, sugars or fats. This can be counterproductive especially if the goal is weight loss. This recipe is for a fairly straightforward green smoothie requiring just a handful of fairly common ingredients. It can be prepared in 10 minutes or less.
If you can opt for the certified organic versions of each ingredient, they’re healthier and supposed to contain less chemicals and preservatives found in commercial produce. And fresher is better. I typically prefer to keep smaller quantities of ingredients on hand to maintain freshness and integrity of nutrients.

Note * If you do make a green smoothie on a regular basis be sure to rotate  your greens at least once a week to prevent creating a thyroid imbalance. Here’s a great article on rotating your greens.
